Verizon Wireless expands EV-DO to Omaha and Council Bluffs

The Evolution-Data Optimised (EV-DO) 3G wide-area network of US wireless services provider Verizon Wireless, has been expanded to Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, in the US.
Verizon Wireless said customers can now access its high-speed wireless broadband network while travelling in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.
Customers can use the BroadbandAccess high-speed wireless broadband network, which offers average speeds of 400-700kb/s and is aimed at business customers and mobile professionals. They can also use the V CAST multimedia service from Verizon Wireless, which offers music and short content on-demand, including music videos, news, weather, sports and 3D games.
According to Verizon Wireless, coverage will be available to 92% of the population of the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area and the surrounding areas. It confirmed that coverage reaches north from Omaha to the Douglas/Washington County border, south to US Highway 370, west to US Highway 6 and east of Council Bluffs to Interstate 29, just south of Interstate 80.
