By mobile | February 11, 2008

IT solutions provider Lynx Technology has won an order worth over GBP650,000 over the duration of the implementation, to provide Irwin Mitchell, a UK law firm, with a converged IP Communications network.

The new network, based on Cisco’s Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data, will provide IP Telephony (IPT) to 1,700 users at five locations around the UK, starting with 360 phones at the company’s Sheffield practice. According to the company, the IPT solution will enable Irwin Mitchell to cut communications costs and improve its disaster recovery capabilities, as well as provide a platform for the delivery of applications such as unified messaging, XML integration, video telephony and automated call billing.
